Dr. Borreggine celebrates 25 years in Practice
On July 2, 2017, Dr. Joseph Borreggine, local podiatrist, and the Family Foot Care Center located at 2111 18th Street, Charleston, IL will celebrate their 25th year of business. Dr. Borreggine moved from Chicago to Charleston, IL in 1992 to take over a podiatric practice from a retiring podiatrist. Dr. Borreggine established his medical corporation, Touching Ground Podiatry, PC, in 1993 and has continued too practice podiatric medicine and surgery ever since.
Dr. Borreggine graduated from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1988 and was surgically trained in Chicago from 1988-1992. Borreggine arrived in Charleston in 1992. Then in 1997, Dr. Borreggine became a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot Foot and Ankle Surgery and re-certified in 2006 and 2016. Since in 1992, Dr. Borreggine has maintained his main office in Charleston, IL practice since in 1992.
However through the last 25 years, Dr. Borreggine expanded his practice to other locations in surrounding communities in the East Central Illinois area. Then in 2004, Borreggine consolidated his practice to include to only two office locations in Charleston and Effingham, IL.
But in August 2016, Dr. Borreggine closed his Effingham location after 17 years of business to work with the Preferred Podiatry Group, PC based in Northbrook, IL which is a large group practice of podiatrists who provide foot care for residents in nursing homes, assisted living centers, and intermediate care facilities through Central Illinois.
Dr. Borreggine has also been a staff member of numerous hospitals as well. Borreggine joined the medical staff of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in 1992 and HSHS St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham, IL in 2000. Borreggine continues his tenure on the staff of those hospitals to this day.
Dr. Borreggine has also served his profession proudly through these past many years serving in a number of political positions which included being President of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association in 2009-10 and currently serves as the Chair of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Licensing Board until 2018. Recently, Dr. Borreggine was listed in Podiatry Management Magazine as one the Top 100 Most Influential Podiatrists in America:
Dr. Borreggine has been very happy living with his family and practicing as a podiatrist in Charleston, IL. Through these past many years as a resident of Charleston, IL, Dr. Borreggine and has also had the opportunity to be involved in a number local community civic organizations volunteering his time. Dr. Borreggine looks to continue to practice in Charleston, IL providing podiatric care for many years to come.
